Guido Molenaar - PlayFountain
Guido Molenaar - PlayFountain
The PlayFountain® is a Dutch invention that consists of a modular floor area of 100 m2 equipped with 1,024 water jets controlled by smart software to create dozens of water games and spectacular shows that offer a unique, temporary water experience in inner cities and holiday resorts. The idea for the PlayFountain was born 9 years ago when Guido Molenaar, as a graduation project for his employer Ice-World, went to investigate the potential of a modular play fountain, with as much appeal as the ice rink in the market square in winter.
While the very first prototype ran on several circuit boards and Raspberry Pi's that were tied together, the product has now been fully developed and patented. Everything runs very efficiently on 12 V and is designed so that there is no need for huge power cords or large power supplies near all that water. The pumps, filters and electronic circuits are made as closed as possible to make them robust and fault free.
PlayFountain was looking for a new partner who could produce their circuit boards and switch boxes in series and who they could rely on. Their old cabinet builder could no longer always deliver the desired specifications - so they enlisted the help of Cimar Electronics. Constant quality and reliability are very important to PlayFountain. When the customer connects the product, they need to be sure that it will work without any problems anywhere, anytime.
According to Guido, Cimar has mastered the assembly of control cabinets down to the last detail. Together with the input from PlayFountain, this ensures that the end product also looks impressively neat and tidy for the end user. Since the collaboration with Cimar, Guido is also impressed by how professional and structured their work is. The many check-up moments, constant high quality and pleasant and sincere communication give him a lot of confidence in a future where together they may spread many years of water fun around the world!
