Acquisition of Sense-WARE Fire and Gas Detection B.V. by Cimar Holding B.V.
In 2009, Cimar Electronics B.V. started producing explosion-proof flame detection equipment for Sense-WARE Fire and Gas Detection B.V. At first, this involved only the assembly of the test lamps and, from 2012, also that of the flame detectors. Since then, Sense-WARE's customer base and turnover have grown significantly. The two companies maintain a pleasant and intensive (network) relationship, and are completely in tune with each other with the activities being divided as follows:
Sense-WARE: development, sales, marketing and quality management
Cimar Electronics: Material procurement, production, inventory management, logistics and shipment
For the purpose of that collaboration, since Cimar's move on 1 January 2020 to Fokkerstraat 25 in Veenendaal, Sense-WARE has also moved into this building.
Jan and Truus Nijkamp and Alfred Draijer, the owners of Sense-WARE are all around 65 years old. Two of the owners, Jan and Truus Nijkamp, said they would like to enjoy their retirement in the foreseeable future and carefully transfer the company to an interested party. Alfred Draijer would still like to continue working for a number of years. Needless to say, talks were then held with Cimar about a company takeover. This resulted in Cimar Holding B.V. taking over the company Sense-WARE Fire and Gas Detection B.V. with effect from 1 January 2023, and with practical effect from 1 June 2023. Alfred Draijer will thereby continue to work at Sense-WARE. Given the brand recognition of Sense-WARE and the certifications to its name, the name Sense-WARE Fire and Gas Detection B.V. will be maintained.
